Dates: June 5 – June 9, 2017
This one-week summer academy is offered in partnership with Hidalgo Medical Services, Gila Regional Medical Center, and Western New Mexico University and is designed for incoming high school freshmen from southwest New Mexico. The Academy provides math, science and health literacy enrichment. The Academy aims to teach students study habits, introduce laboratory science, research, college awareness and other useful academic experiences as middle school students prepare to begin high school. Academy admission is free, space is limited and students are selected in the order that completed applications, including a letter of interest, are received. If not selected, applicants will be placed on a waiting list and notified if a slot is to become available. Food and snacks will be provided.
