POSITION SUMMARY

The CHI Program Manager is responsible for the planning, development, quality assurance and daily operations of assigned programs and projects. The program manager oversees the program budget and ensures program objectives are delivered in a timely manner and at a high level of quality. He/she ensures compliance with all CHI policies and procedures and applicable local, state and/or federal funding requirements. The Program Manager will meet the goals and objectives of the program(s) in a collaborative and coordinated role with the supervisor, team members and other internal and external HMS partners.
The delivery of quality service and positive interaction with our customers is critical to the completion of all the tasks within this job description, thus the employee is responsible for establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with CHI partners, CHI employees and community members in a courteous, respectful and professional manner. Guidelines include all CHI policies and Procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

CHI General:

I . Uses independent judgment to ensure program goals and objectives are met in a timely manner.

2. Prepares program reports, evaluates new and on‐ going programs and makes recommendations for program modifications or changes in programmatic procedures.

3. Functions as a technical consultant or serves as program director for service programs with a local,state or national impact.

4. Participate in long‐ and short‐term program development and planning.

5. Develop and effectively manage program timelines to ensure timely completion of program deliverables.

6. Monitor program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of work outcomes vis-a-vis contractual and grant commitments.

7. Manage and coordinate programmatic meetings including managing logistical contractors.

8. Facilitate small- and large-group meetings and trainings.

9. Provide technical assistance to community-based organizations, networks or consortiums.

10. Develop publications, grant applications, and reports through collaborative writing and editing.

11. Track relevant activities in public health and related fields to inform the Center for Health Innovation, its partners, and communities.

12.  Manage relationships with program staff and contractors.

13.  Participate in CHI team meetings and strategic planning activities.

14.  Identify opportunities for marketing programs and services and implement promotional activities on behalf of CHI.

15.  Identify partnership and funding opportunities and promote relationship-building among CHI and other organizations, agencies, and/or individuals.

16. Develop and disseminate programmatic and marketing materials.

17. Develop PowerPoint presentations and other materials for use during program-related events.

18. Develop written and online tools for programmatic use including survey and evaluation instruments.

19. Identify technological tools to enhance and support CHI’s capacity and programs.

20. Serve as programmatic liaison to external partners, including representing CHI at national, regional and local meetings.

21. Adhere to CHI’s administrative and record keeping guidelines to support accurate bookkeeping and documentation of activities.

Workforce Program Director: Specific

  1.  Manages Health careers Program, Development, Dissemination and Evaluation processes including RFP design, distribution, review process and contract_development and awards in coordination with AHEC program partners locally, regionally and statewide.
  2. Assures the development of a community action plan for each health careers program, as well as supporting tools for collective program work among partnerships.
  3.  Manages relationships with clinical, educational and other partners.
  4. Prepares reports for University, state and federal grants and contracts, prepares applications, and presentations regarding programs to public bodies, at conferences and other appropriate entities.
  5. Represents CHI at all technical assistance and related meetings.
  6. Develops and implements internal and external communications plans with staff, network, partners, and the public, including media plans, information dissemination, press releases, etc… Manages websites and other public file sharing among sub recipients and consortium members.
  7. Assists in the development of evaluation and analysis models and evaluation tools to assure that CHI Workforce program is achieving goals and objectives.
  8. Travels statewide to work with communities and organizations to assist in the development of workforce model perspectives and policy positions.
  9. Serves as a main liaison with state and federal project officers for routine program issues, planning, work development, updates, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in health, human services, public administration or related field. Two years of applicable professional experience may substitute for one year of education.

Master’s Degree in health or educational filed preferable.

Minimum of five years program management experience in related field.

Minimum of two years supervisory experience.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to lead teams and work with diverse groups and community coalitions.

Group facilitation skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in public speaking.

Proficient in various software programs including all Microsoft Office Suite, internet communication including email and browsing.

Takes initiative and is able to work independently.

Willingness to travel at the local, state, and national levels.

Valid driver’s license.
